Slab Questions Answered

For most residential slabs like garage floors and shed bases, 100mm (4 inches) is standard. House floor slabs are typically 85–100mm. We’ll advise the correct thickness for your specific project during our site assessment.

Light foot traffic is usually possible after 24–48 hours. Vehicle traffic should wait at least 7 days. Concrete reaches its full design strength at 28 days.

Steel mesh or bar reinforcement is recommended for almost all slabs. It significantly reduces the risk of cracking and improves load-bearing capacity. We include reinforcement as standard on all our slab pours.
